The research Center for Comparative and Cognitive Linguistics (Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest) carries out research activities in the field of comparative linguistics, prioritizing the Romance and Germanic areas from a linguistic and/or sociolinguistic perspective. The main research directions are functional syntax, cognitive semantics, lexicology and terminology (specialized languages), with applications to second language teaching or translation.

Volumul de față reunește actele celei de-a XVIII-a ediții a prestigiosului Congres Internațional de Limbă și Literatură Catalană (București, iulie 2018), organizată de către Associació Internacional de Llengua i Literatura Catalanes în colaborare cu Universitatea din București. Structurat în patru secțiuni tematice –lingvistică, literatură, traductologie și didactica limbii–, cuprinde treizeci și cinci de contribuții semnate de profesori și cercetători din întreaga lume, cu vădită aplecare înspre studiul apropierilor, întâlnirilor sau asemănărilor la nivel lingvistic, literar și cultural între spațiul catalan și cel românesc. Această apariție editorială marchează, de bună seamă, un moment memorabil în istoria catalanisticii din România.
Aquest volum reuneix les actes de la divuitena edició del prestigiós Congrés Internacional de Llengua i Literatura Catalanes (Bucarest, juliol de 2018), organitzada per l’Associació Internacional de Llengua i Literatura Catalanes en col·laboració amb la Universitat de Bucarest. Estructurat en quatre àrees temàtiques –lingüística, literatura, traducció i didàctica de la llengua–, arreplega trenta-cinc contribucions, entre conferències magistrals, conferències plenàries i comunicacions de professors i investigadors de tot el món entorn l’estudi de la llengua i les lletres entre l’espai català i el romanès. La publicació d’aquest volum marca, certament, una fita cabdal en la història de la catalanística a Romania.
This volume brings together the proceedings of the eighteenth edition of the prestigious Congrés Internacional de Llengua i Literatura Catalanes (Bucharest, July 2018), organized by the Associació Internacional de Llengua i Literatura Catalanes in collaboration with the University of Bucharest. Structured in four thematic sections –linguistics, literature, translation studies and language teaching–, the thirty-five articles authored by professors and researchers from around explore Catalan and Romanian culture, language and literature from a contrastive approach. This collective volume represents a landmark of Catalan studies in Romania.
