Conferința Internațională Anuală a Facultății de Limbi și Literaturi Străine se organizează la finele lunii noiembrie, și se adresează deopotrivă cadrelor didactice, doctoranzilor și cercetătorilor independenți. Pot fi propuse teme din domeniile filologie sau studii culturale, care se pot înscrie în următoarele direcții de cercetare: achiziția limbii, învățarea unei limbi străine, lingvistică teoretică, lingvistică istorică, tipologie lingvistică, sociolingvistică, traductologie, analiza discursului, teoria și istoria literaturii, literatură comparată, studii culturale, istoria cărții și a lecturii, teoriile receptării și hermeneutică, critică textuală și editare critică, critică feministă, postmodernitate și postumanism.
The Annual International Conference of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Bucharest
19-21 November 2026
The Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest will organize its annual conference during 19-21 November 2026. The conference will be held onsite (and exceptionally online) and may be of interest to researchers, PhD students and teaching staff.
Sections:
The conference features two main sections: one comprising papers in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics and another gathering papers on various topics pertaining to the domains of Literature and Cultural studies, such as (but not limited to): language acquisition, language learning, theoretical linguistics, historical linguistics, linguistic typology, socio-linguistics, translation studies, lexicology, terminology, discourse analysis, literary and cultural analysis, the theory and history of literature, comparative literature, cultural studies, hermeneutics, text criticism and editing, feminist criticism, postmodernism etc.
Besides its main sections, the conference may also host various thematic workshops proposed and coordinated by colleagues affiliated to the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest (see section on workshops).

Important administrative aspects:
- To register for the main sections of the conference or for any of its workshops, please send your abstract by October 15 to cercetare@lls.unibuc.ro. The abstract should be written in Times New Roman, 12, justified and should not exceed 2 pages, including the bibliography. The abstract should specify the section or workshop that the proposal is intended for.

- The selected papers may be presented in Romanian or another international language
- A selection of papers will be published in Analele UB – Limbi și Literaturi Străine (The Annals of UB – Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures).
- The conference fee is 300 lei (teaching staff, researchers)/ 150 lei Phd students and is to be paid into the account of the Alumni FLLS Association. Payment details will be sent to presenters in due time. All members of the Alumni FLLS Association benefit from a 50% reduction of the conference fee.
